Not only is safety important to me, a fast website adds real value to good usability. Here is a humble and incomplete list of memorable websites I have worked on over the years, along with helping more than a few people out on their personal or business sites.

Most of these addresses no longer resolve, or resolve to something else entirely. They are kept as they were, because the point of the list is what was built and who built it, not where it can still be visited. The people who designed these sites are named where the record names them.

  • 2000 · voetbalplein.nl, Interplein BV.
  • 2000 · rekenmodules.nl, Interplein BV. The corporate showcase and its calculation modules, written in Java and JavaScript. It has its own page.
  • 1999 · roots.nl. The first webshop I made from A to Z, designed with Bas van Nuland. It has its own page.
  • 1999 · bytedust.net. A guestbook for the site of my friend Dennis Douven, with pagination and post verification, followed by a link submitter and a post-a-note.
  • 1999 · hku.nl/~dirk2. A showcase for things made during art school. Not only HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but a good deal of Director and Lingo, and some Flash, Perl and ASP.
  • 1998 · WebHyp, Interplein BV. A circuitous web-enabled wizard for narrowing down a mortgage. Design by Maaike de Laat. It has its own page.
  • 1997 · AliensAnonymous.org. A way to get to grips with the new media: making pages, measuring traffic. The content came mostly from third parties. In cooperation with Walter van de Eikhof.
  • 1996 · home.xs4all.nl/~superfly. First.

The Director and Shockwave pieces from these years needed the Adobe Shockwave Player, which no browser has run for years. The Wayback Machine is the only way left to look at most of this.
