SeriousLab

SeriousLab was the webshop where SeriousBox clients made their own swag. A venue picks a product, puts its own logo on it, and sees the result rendered there and then rather than after a week of emails with a printer.

That real-time render is what the shop is for. It also explains the user rights it runs on: what sits in your basket is your own artwork on your own product, so it belongs to your account and nobody else’s. From there, coupon codes and payment, and behind it an admin side for managing products, categories and their properties.

Built on CodeIgniter, the first project I used it for.

The stills tool

Alongside the shop, an application for making stills. A customer picks a template, drops a photograph into it, and the two are composed into a finished still to be printed or put on a narrowcasting screen. The templates carry the design work: headphones and speakers for a music night, silhouettes against a sunburst, rainbows, butterflies, a bare tree at dusk, each built around a clear window where the photograph lands.
