SeriousBox call-centre CMS
2012 · Sole developer
The narrowcasting screens had to be paid for, and they were paid for by advertising. This is the system the tele-sales team used to sell it.
What it had to do
An agent on the phone is selling advertising space on a screen in a particular venue, so the things they need are the things about that place: where it is, who is advertising there now, who advertised there before. An order is one or more locations dropped into a basket. The process then checks the order and sends the confirmation email to the customer.
Built on CodeIgniter, with roles, because a tele-sales agent, a team lead and back office do not need or get the same view.
What it had to report
Orders over time, by status, by employee, by a specific reference. What had been paid through iDEAL. Which advertisements were still open and which were finished. It also tied into the Chamber of Commerce address selection, so prospecting worked from real company records rather than a hand-kept list.
Multilingual from the start, because SeriousBox ran in Belgium and Germany as well as the Netherlands.
What it was built from
CodeIgniter, and a set of libraries doing the unglamorous work: a PDF generator, an Excel reader, the iDEAL payment integration, email dispatch, a postcode lookup, and zip compression.
